Stop struggling with what to post. Get a month of industrial content templates designed to showcase your shop floor, capabilities, and technical expertise without taking hours out of your week.
Why You Need to be on LinkedIn and Actively Posting
For a long time, industrial companies relied solely on trade shows, business card exchanges, cold calling, and word of mouth, but the B2B buying landscape has fundamentally shifted.
Today, procurement managers, supply chain directors, and chief engineers use LinkedIn to vet potential partners before they ever hop on a discovery call. They want to take a sneak peek at your business without handing over their details to see if you’re worth their effort, time or money.
Companies can use LinkedIn primarily to build brand presence, attract top talent, and generate sales leads, and as the world’s largest professional network, it’s become a critical tool for business-to-business (B2B) growth, with over 70 million registered business pages on the platform.
To be blunt, if your company is invisible on LinkedIn (and no, just ‘having a page’ doesn’t count), you’re losing business to competitors who are actively showcasing their capabilities. Using LinkedIn allows you to:
- Build Digital Trust: High-value contracts require high trust. Showing your facility, certifications, and past projects proves you can deliver.
- Shorten Sales Cycles: By educating prospects on your processes and expertise through their feed, you overcome objections before they even talk to sales.
- Attract Top Talent: In a skilled labour shortage, the best machinists, engineers, and project managers want to work for forward-thinking, visible companies.
How Often Should You Post?
Consistency will always beat frequency. You don’t need to post every day to see results; in fact, flooding the feed can not only take up a lot of your time but also dilute your message… but you DO need to post regularly on your company’s LinkedIn page.
- The Recommended Cadence: 2 to 3 times per week (roughly 8 to 12 posts per month).
- Why this works: The LinkedIn algorithm currently favours a longer “shelf-life” for posts. A high-quality technical post can cycle through your target audience’s feeds for 3 to 4 days.

There are over 70 million company pages on LinkedIn.
These sit alongside more than 1.3 billion total member profiles across the globe.*
What to Talk About: The Strategy of Strategic Content Pillars
Throwing random updates at the wall rarely builds a pipeline. Instead, successful B2B marketing relies on Content Pillars, which are pre-determined categories to ensure your content stays balanced, strategic, and aligned with business goals:
Proof & Capability AKA The "We Can Do It" Pillar
• The Goal: Prove your technical competence, accuracy, and capacity to handle complex work.
• Example Topics included: The Project Showcase, The New Tech Upgrade, The Problem-Solver (Case Study), Who We Work With, Quality Control/Standards.
•Why it matters: Procurement teams need to know you have the expertise, strength, resiliency, machinery, tolerances, and the problem-solving brains to deliver zero-defect parts on time.
Authority & Value AKA The "We Know Our Stuff" Pillar
• The Goal: Position your company as an industry leader, not just an "order taker."
• Example Topics included: Sustainability Initiatives, Industry Insights, Educational "Did You Know?", Trade Show Promos, Supplier Shoutouts.
•Why it matters: When you share sector specific tips and thoughts or supply chain insights, you become a trusted advisor. Buyers buy from experts, not commodities.
People & Culture AKA The "You Can Trust Us" Pillar
• The Goal: Humanise the brand, build emotional trust, and drive recruitment.
• Example Topics included: The Safety Milestone, Employee Spotlight, Team and Employees, Behind-the-Scenes Craftsmanship, Talent Acquisition, and Company Milestones.
•Why it matters: People buy from people and want to know who's behind the operations. Showing a clean, safe shop floor and celebrating your operators and customer wins builds massive credibility and signals a healthy, reliable operation.
The Fluff AKA The "Random, But Useful" Pillar
• The Goal: If you’ve got something useful and easy to say, it’s a quick way to share it.
• Example Topics included: Celebrate National Holidays, The ‘How To Get In Touch’, The Promotions or New Team Info, Hiring posts etc.Work With, Quality Control/Standards.
•Why it matters: People haven’t got time to waste, and need something quick and easy, e.g opening times, or they’re on LinkedIn and want to contact you quickly. Putting something ‘easy to digest’ breaks up your usual content and can show personality.
And before you say “we can use AI to make our LinkedIn posts”, NO, AI can NOT do it, not in the way you need.
It’s a bad move – people can spot it a mile away, and LinkedIn can tell with 94% accuracy, penalising generic, low-effort AI posts. The social media platform has even recently been asking people to report posts they believe are AI-made, branding them as “AI slop” to protect the quality of the feed.
Trust me, those AI posts are actually doing more harm than good!
