Managing Social Media (Without losing your mind)

9 Effective Time Management Tips For Busy People- website blog 400x1200

Let’s have a little heart-to-heart about something we all know can feel like a full-time job: SOCIAL MEDIA.

Between managing your workload, your teams, keeping the company’s marketing going, attending all the meetings, staying on top of emails, and oh yeah, trying to have a work life balance (hello family or ‘me’ time) – it’s no wonder posting consistently on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok (and the rest!) can fall straight to the bottom of your to-do list.

But here’s the truth bomb: in today’s digital-first world, showing up online isn’t optional, it’s essential. Social media is one of the most powerful ways to grow your business, build brand trust and awareness, and drive traffic to your website or services. It’s where your audience is hanging out, discovering new businesses, and deciding who they want to buy from or work with.

But we get it, keeping up with content creation, trends, captions, hashtags, and engagement can feel like a hamster wheel. And that’s where the magic of systems and support comes in!

Let’s take a super quick look at some of the things you can try to help you keep up with social media, without losing your mind..

Have a clear Social Media Strategy

Having a clear social media strategy is key to building a strong online presence and reaching your audience effectively. A social media strategy is a plan that outlines your goals, target audience, content types, posting schedule, and ways to measure success. It helps you stay consistent, choose the right platforms, and track what’s working. Rather than posting randomly, a clear strategy ensures your efforts align with your brand’s goals and have maximum impact.

-Plan Ahead with a social media Calendar

Map out your month in advance with key dates, launches, holidays, or themes relevant to your business. A content calendar is your best friend when it comes to staying on track and avoiding that dreaded “what do I post today?” feeling.

    Schedule Your Posts

Use tools like Later, Social Pilot, or Meta Business Suite (just to name a few!) to schedule your content in advance. You can batch a week or even a month’s worth of posts in one go and then sit back and let the tools do their thing. More time for running your biz (or sipping coffee slowly for once)!

Top tip: If you create your images in Canva, you can even schedule your posts directly there in their Content Planner app – just note, you can’t ‘tag’ or ‘@’ people or company pages.

    Create a Content Bank

Set aside time to create reusable content (think FAQs, behind-the-scenes, testimonials, tips) that you can cycle through when you’re short on time or inspiration. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel every week. Whenever something interesting happens within the business, take a photo, video or note of it – you might not need it right now, but you’ll want to use it for your content later on.

Photos we’ve used for our client’s content before include:

    • Leaves outside the office
    • Sun shining nicely on the company logo
    • Team building days
    • Products on display
    • Trade shows
    • Team life events – some people are even happy to use wedding photos or new baby pictures alongside a congratulations announcement
    • Site visits – including the team wearing hard hats on site builds
    • Office furniture – out with the old, in with the new
    • New starter packs – laptop, new phone, water bottle, lanyard, notepad, etc
    • MD giving a talk
    • Marketing teams’ bags packed and ready for an event
    • Crackers on a computer keyboard – yes, this is an actual National Holiday!
    • Team members and professional photos

    …the list goes on!

The same with taking these photos, if you come up with a magical idea, write it down then and there. You don’t need to have made the post, but you likely won’t remember what you wanted to write when you think about it later, your mind is going 100mph, and you have other more important things to think of.

    Be Consistent. Consistency Is Queen!

If there’s one thing that really moves the needle on social media, it’s consistency. That doesn’t mean posting five times a day (please don’t do that! It actually does more harm than good), but it does mean showing up regularly enough that your audience remembers your name, trusts your voice, and clicks that “follow” button with confidence.

“How often should you be posting?” I hear you ask… Well, that depends on the platform, the size of your current reach, and what you’re saying.

    Outsource to the Right People

That’s where I come in! (Hi, I’m Freya 👋) I’m known as the Ted Lasso of digital marketing – think positive energy, strategic plays, and genuinely cheering you on every step of the way.

I help marketing managers, teams and business owners like you free up their time and headspace by taking the stress out of social media. My team and I can not only come up with the ideas for you, but we can write them, make images (in the correct sizes – because of course, all SM platforms are ‘helpful’ and use different sizes) to go alongside, tag the right people, schedule and upload and even report on them at the end of the month – we take all the faff out of the do-ing, but you still have an overview and the sign off before anything goes live (if that’s what you want).

If you’re ready to hand over your social media, content management and the reporting of it, to start instead focusing on the parts of your business you love, let us help – the clue’s in the name ‘Freya Helps Me’. We already do this for a variety of clients, including Structural and Civil Engineers, Architects, Security Professionals, Medical Device Manufacturers, Housing Estates, Engineering Firms, Biometric Products, Scientific Research Laboratories, Tradies and more – we particularly specialise in STEM fields.

Whether you need a strategy, content planning, or someone to manage your socials from top to bottom, hello *waves enthusiastically*
